Tux-Lab will give an overview on how open source software are used in the manufacturing of a simple open source bottle opener. A step by step walk through from product design with FreeCAD, dimensional drawings with LibreCAD, g-code writing with Geany, laser cut/engrave pattern design with Inkscape, cnc machining, laser marking, and product packaging/images with GIMP/Inkscape.
We will share what we've learned in running a mostly open source environment, GNU/Debian OS, and the challenges we face.
